Not only because it is a city that boasts the largest number of academically qualified painters in relation to the number of its population, but also because several renowned exhibitions have opened in Lendvá, its activities in the field of building relationships with other cities, museums and galleries and hosting guest exhibitions also outstanding.

Asparagus day
In the month of May, a pleasant culinary gathering takes place on the Day of Asparagus and Asparagus Foods in Dolga Vas, where the locals, local asparagus growers and caterers prepare specialties from delicious asparagus, such as mini pizzas, cannelloni, risotto, various sauces, gnocchi, langash. In addition, local wine producers and other indigenous local delicacies are also presented. Asparagus is known as food, medicine and aphrodisiac, and is grown and processed on up to five farms in Dolga Vas.

Fishing days
At the summer event Hotiza fishing days, enriched with traditional, cultural and music-entertainment programs, you can get to know life along the Mur river and untouched nature. The focus of the series of events is fish, which is prepared in the now hundred-year-old Hotiza way. On the Hotiza Fishing Days, you can enjoy the wonderful scenery, the shade of the trees along the Mura and the taste of excellently prepared fish.

Bogračfest
In the old town of Lendava, amidst the historical town houses at the foot of the picturesque Lendava vineyards, the largest competition in cooking bograč in Slovenia has been held for a two decades. The event is actually a culinary festival, during which bograč is massively prepared in cauldrons along the main street by the competing teams. Apart from this traditional food of the wine-growing region, various other local delicacies are served: pretzels, crackling cakes, langaš, delicious wine.

Wine evening in Lendava
An evening dedicated to the presentation and tasting of premium wines in the atmosphere of Krone near the Town Hall with musical accompaniment. Lendava wines could be described as mainly dry wines with a distinct varietal bouquet, with Welschriesling leading the way as a characteristic wine variety, followed by Rhine Riesling, Chardonnay and other varieties. Taste the noble drop of the winemakers and winegrowers of the Lendava wine-growing area!

Lendava Grape Harvest
This traditional ethnological culinary event is held in early September at various locations in the town. Lendava grape harvest is a celebration of the winegrowers, which impresses with a varied full-day programme and a rich gastronomic offer, including bograč, langos, pretzels as well as fish – of course, Lendava’s fine wines are a must. The traditional procession through the old town with the presentation of traditions and costumes is a real eye-catcher. The cultural heritage preserved in music and dance will surely be a delight for folklore fans, and will not do without a children’s entertainment programme and late night parties.
